Hey Everyone! Candace here. Your entertaining author. It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and I have a very special guest for you. Chrissy from The Pear Blog is here with a fantastic tutorial to help breathe a little Valentine’s Day life into your home, dinner or party. Personally, I would LOVE to see this garland as a backdrop on a party dessert table, but hey, that’s just me. wink wink.
Without further delay, here’s Chrissy:
I want to thank Fancy Little Things for letting me hang out over here today.
I have a fun little Valentine project to share with you.
Supplies needed:
- red felt
- scissors
- string
- glue gun/glue sticks
for my red felt I used a Christmas tree skirt i got on clearness for $0.50..SCORE
I started out by cutting my felt into varying widths of strips then I cut the strips into squares
fold your squares in half (i did 2 at a time to speed things up) cut out a heart shape.
you did it!
now time to let your creative juices flow
i liked to cut my hearts so that they were not all the same size or shape
there is something about a short fat heart that makes me smile
continue cutting hearts until you have your desired amount
make sure your glue gun is plugged in and nice and hot grab some coffee while you are waiting, add some homemade creamer
now we can keep moving along.. i laid out the pattern before i began gluing the string to the hearts
i only used a tiny dot of glue on the back of the heart and then placed the string down
be careful not to burn your finger tips
keep adding hearts until you reach the desired length of string for your project
i hung my hearts in our front window
here i used a longer strand draped over an old window on our wall
the decoration is the perfect amount of Valentine fun for our little house! I can not wait to see the ones you create. come on over to thePEARL and visit. we would love to have you over!
