God’s Gift of Nature

It’s no secret that nature photography is NOT my forte. I would LOVE to be one of those photographers that could get amazing photos of full moons, lightning strikes, tornadoes (just kidding!) or underwater sea life.

But that isn’t to say I don’t like attempting to be a nature photographer! The photography above is from a bush that is on the corner of our house. It’s mostly green all year, but in the late summer/early fall, these gorgeous flowers bloom from it. It’s like I can ignore that bush all year long, until late August when all of the sudden it is gorgeous with colorful blooms.

It reminds me of 2 Corinthians 5:17- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old is gone, the new has come!”

I take that bush for granted all year until it is blooming with new life. And I am also guilty of taking God for granted, then when times get hard and things seem overwhelming, THEN I notice. I remember His unfailing love, and instantly, ask for forgiveness to be new again.

Isn’t His faithfulness overwhelming?

–Come back in two weeks where I will be sharing some awesome tips on nature photography from someone who really knows their stuff!

About Julie Sancken

I am a wife to my high school sweetheart, and a stay at home momma to my 2 kids, Brayden (3) and Kenley (1). I am a born again believer who knows the power of God's love and feels blessed to serve Him. I am a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, and my dream job next to staying home with my kids would be as an adoption worker. In my spare time, I am an aspiring photographer, blogger at www.back2basicsblog.com, baker, farmer's wife, online shopper, and self-proclaimed technology geek- but my most important role is that of wife and mom. You can usually find me with coffee in one hand and my iPhone in the other while chasing down my rambunctious toddler(s).
