Inspiration for Creating the Perfect Fall Table

Seriously, I CANNOT believe that we’re already at the end of October.  Yikes!!  November and December are completely sneaking up on me.  Now is about the time when ideas for table settings and menus start to whirl through my mind.

As an event stylist for my own company, I focus A LOT on the details and aesthetics of special occasions and holidays.  I feel that when guests walk in to a welcoming and festive environment, there is something really special about that.  It’s almost disarming and helps create a relaxed and festive atmosphere.  I’ll admit though–now that I have a toddler, my priorities have shifted a little and I tend to go for the simpler (and less breakable) things.

Here are a few ideas and inspirations for the season that are beautiful, simple, and won’t break the bank!

Bring a little harvest to your guests from the moment they step foot on your porch with this awesome take on a Fall burlap wreath for less than $5 from Classy Clutter.

If you’re like me, I like to collect fresh pumpkins and gourds in all sizes when I see them on sale after Halloween.  A fresh pumpkin, uncut, will last as decor for weeks indoors.

Here’s an idea for a White Pumpkin and Pillar Table Setting.

If you don’t have all white pumpkins, don’t be afraid to get out a can of spray paint to match this look from Martha Stewart.  If not, orange pumpkins will do just fine!

Check out this Tray Centerpiece from Laura at Finding Home.  What I love about this is that almost the entire centerpiece rests on a rustic wooden tray, which is fantastic if you want to serve your dinner family style because it’s so easily removed when its time to serve dinner.

To add a little personalization and also to avoid Aunt Fran from sitting next to Cousin Joe (I actually don’t have an Aunt Fran or a Cousin Joe, but you see where I’m going with this, right?)–I LOVE the idea of adding a fresh holiday edible as a place card.

Like these Metallic Pumpkin Place cards from The Bliss List.  You may also want to try other edibles too…pomegranates and artichokes are my other two favorites.

I adore the metallic pumpkins. I collect acorns and use them to fill glass centerpieces and vases. I also collect branches and make a gratitude tree (fill out little slips of paper with blessings I’m thankful for).

    • Thank you, Stephanie! I love the idea of using acorns….wish I had some! And what a great idea to do a gratitude tree. It’s SO important to keep what’s important in perspective, and that must be a wonderful reminder.
