i am in love with these tables.
they have been used as side tables in our living room and both kids desperately needed bed side tables for their water, books & stuff! so, i added two coats of green paint {free from the Ace Hardware giveaway a few weeks ago} let each coat dry overnight {thanks to the tips from Karen at Redoux Interiors – a fabulously intelligent french-redoux artist}.

Jack’s Side Table
for jack’s table i used Melissa & Doug blue paint {because i didn’t have any more craft paint and i was going to cover with Mod Podge anyway!}, painters tape for the stripes & foam brushes to reduce strokes in the paint.
#1: use painters tape to make stripes & then use smaller pieces to space the tape
#2: paint and let dry for a bit before peeling the tape off. let completely fry overnight
#3: use a high-count sandpaper to even out any bumps in the paint. apply a coat of mod podge and let dry for a long period of time. we used steel wool to finish the table top & it make the surface very smooth!

Abby’s Side Table
for abby’s table, i used my lovely roll of big lot’s wrapping paper that i have used for this project & this project! i recommend picking up some geometric patterned paper whenever you can – it comes in handy for several home decor projects!
before mod podge-ing anything — have your paper shape cut. we flipped our table upside down on the wrapping paper, traced it, cut it & then began…
#1: add a thin layer of mod podge to the table & add the paper circle
#2: add another thin layer of mod podge
#3: use steel wool to finish it off.
it looks so cute in Jack’s room! i love how it turned out.
#1) bedding from Pottery Barn #2) handmade lamp made by my mom using a telescope stand #3) book box made by my dad. he sells his items at Faithful Grain
LOVE the green with the pink in Abby’s room!
#1) my childhood bed that will be getting a sand & paint job this summer #2) bedding from Target #3) another book box made by my dad. he sells his items at Faithful Grain.
YOU can easily makeover one of your small tables if i can!
what are you inspired to makeover??
{remember, you can ALWAYS pin our projects… actually, i squeal with total excitement every time someone pins something from FLT! we appreciate the sharing & thoughtfulness when you do!}
